Research April 10-26

Today we began our research unit.  You are researching an author.  You will find out all you can about the author so you can give a presentation about him or her.  Pretend you are writing their biography.  What information is needed:  Name, birth, death (if not alive), family, career, famous works, etc.  Anything interesting about your author.

You must have a minimum of five (5) sources!

You will make an annotated bibliography and a works cited page (both due April 18th) and a Power Point (due April 24th).  You will present your Power Point in class the 24th to the 26th.

You will also be finding 20 vocabulary words as you research.  You have the sheet to fill in as you work.  Make sure to write the word, definition, and the sentence in which you found the word.

You also need to have a picture of your author printed for Monday.  We will be doing an author wheel in class Monday.  I will grade this.

Research Project
Directions: You will be researching a famous author.  You will be provided with a list of authors from which to choose, or you may choose one of your own (upon teacher approval). Throughout this assignment you will receive several grades.  You will do an author’s wheel, an annotated bibliography, a works cited page, a Power Point, and a presentation using your Power Point.  Each assignment will be explained further as they are assigned.
